This book offers a visual history of the Folly Cove Designers (1941–1969), one of America’s longest-running block printing collectives. Founded in Gloucester, Massachusetts by Caldecott Award–winner Virginia Lee Burton Demetrios, the group was made up primarily of women artists dedicated to collaborative design.
Through more than 300 hand-printed fabric designs, the Folly Cove Designers told personal and regional stories using shared design principles and the expressive language of pattern. A compelling look at a trailblazing creative community and its lasting influence on American design.
