These orange pinwheel mushrooms (Marasmius siccus) were teeny tiny - maybe a 1/2" at most - and popping up through the leaf litter in Niquette Bay State Park in Colchester, Vermont. As summer turns to fall, the forest begins to turn from a riot of color to a more monochromatic landscape and these minuscule spots of orange called out to me and my camera.
