This watercolor begins at the Southern Terminus of the Long Trail and continues to Kelley Stand in Arlington. Kelley Stand marks the site of an overnight stagecoach stop as well as the location of US Senator Webster’s Whig Party Speech in 1840. The Long Trail and Appalachian Trail coincide for the entire length of both these divisions.
Size 3”x12”, matted size 8"x16", painted on 140 lb cold press watercolor paper with high quality watercolors, signed and dated.
The LONG TRAIL SERIES is inspired by my love of both Vermont’s Green Mountains and the trail that travels over it’s spine. Vermont's Long Trail is the country's oldest long distance hiking trail, spanning 272 miles from Massachusetts to the Canadian border.
